In today's Danville Scoop: Nicholas Triolo. Happy Hours. Bishops Ranch Changes.

Good morning, Danville. In Switzerland, one guinea pig just isn’t enough. It’s actually considered animal abuse to have just one because these little guys are super social and need pals to thrive. Guinea pig squad goals, Swiss style! 🇨🇭

THE DIGEST
🏗️ Big Changes Coming to Bishop Ranch?
The old Chevron Park site in San Ramon is about to get a major glow-up—and this week, the Planning Commission takes its first official look.
Sunset Development (behind City Center) is proposing The Orchards:
2,510 homes
Shops, dining, and entertainment
A mix of single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use neighborhoods
After years of buzz and early study sessions, the project is now moving through formal review. A public study session is set for Tuesday, July 15 at 6 PM—no decisions yet, just a deep dive into what’s coming and what tweaks might be needed.
Also on the agenda: the Eden Housing agreement + City Walk environmental report.
San Ramon’s downtown is about to look very different. 🏙️ Stay tuned.
📚 You Decide: Which Book Gets a Bench?
Alright, readers—Danville needs your help.
The Town is teaming up with the Danville Library to bring a brand new book-inspired art bench to town… and you get to pick the story behind it.
It’s all part of the Book Bench Challenge, where one lucky book will be turned into a public art piece celebrating imagination, nostalgia, and good ol’ page-turning magic.
🗳️ Voting is open now through August 6!
Here’s what’s on the short list:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Where the Wild Things Are
The Hobbit
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
The Odyssey
Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
The Little Prince
Whether you're Team Magic, Team Monster, or Team Mythology—make your voice heard.
