LOCAL BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT

šŸ—ļø Meet Mana Construction

Living in Danville is pretty dreamy—but like a lot of homes around here, ours wasn’t exactly ready for extended family visits. So last year, we decided to level up: adding a full bathroom and closet to a detached room out back.

A friend pointed us to Mana Construction, and we couldn’t be happier we called them. Friendly, fast, and surprisingly affordable—with great communication every step of the way. Total pros. Highly recommend if you’re thinking of expanding your space without losing your mind.

Mana Construction Inc. is a family-owned general contracting company serving clients across Vallejo, Danville, Walnut Creek, and the broader East and North Bay. Founded in 2017 by Nancy and Mauricio Cabrera, Mana has built a reputation for trusted craftsmanship and a deeply personalized approach to home building and remodeling.

What They Do:

  • 🚧 New Home Builds—custom homes built with precision

  • šŸ” Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)—from detached units to converted garages

  • ✨ Kitchen & Bathroom Remodels—modern updates with thoughtful design

  • šŸ› ļø Home Additions & Renovations—whether a single room or full remodel

  • 🧰 Property Preservation—turnkey projects handled with care and transparency

With only 5-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews, a very affordable cost, and simple process, they are well worth a call. If you're curious about building or remodeling in and around the Bay Area, Mana Construction combines trusted expertise, thoughtful planning, and excellent reputation—all under one roof.

THE DIGEST

šŸ’” Danville Says Yes to Brighter Parks & Trails

After months of community convo, ballots, and plenty of public Q&A, property owners gave the green light to Danville’s new Landscaping & Lighting Assessment District (LLAD No. 2025-1)—with 57.1% voting yes. That means more funds to maintain the spaces we all love: parks, trails, lights, medians, and neighborhood green belts.

The new LLAD replaces the old 1983 version and officially kicks in for fiscal year 2025/26. Once the results are finalized (set for a Council meeting June 3), the plan will unlock an estimated $1.4 million annually to care for Danville’s public spaces—all while following California’s Prop 218 rules.

In short? It’s a win for walkable evenings, tidy medians, and the kind of curb appeal Danville does best.

🐶 Dog of the Week: Meet George 🐾 Mellow. Charming. Totally Irresistible.

George is the kind of pup that wins hearts without trying. This sweet, quirky guy may be deaf, but don’t let that fool you—he’s incredibly tuned in. He’s learning hand signals like a champ, reads body language like a pro, and greets the world with calm curiosity.

He’s fully potty trained, loves a good car ride, and is all about those slow, sniff-filled strolls. George is currently living the foster life with another pup and a few cats (including one senior cat he’s been known to nap with), and he’s doing great with slow intros. He’s also a fan of kids and soaks up attention from humans of all ages.

While he’s managing a bit of arthritis, regular walks and TLC have him getting stronger by the week. He’d thrive in a quiet, single-level home with minimal stairs and plenty of cozy spots to snooze.

šŸ“… George has been at the shelter since April 2025
