LOCAL BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT
Did you know dirty solar panels cost you? After last year, we got hit with an $800 “True-up” PG&E bill - thanks to dust from all the nearby construction. Construction puns are hard. We’ll skip the drill… 🔨 Nailed it.
Naturally, we researched solar panel cleaning and found East Bay Solar Cleaning. Owner Nikolay Angelov made the whole process easy - great communication and on-time service. Our panels now look and more importantly function, better than new.

With 90 5-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews and a very affordable cost, you’d be silly not to get this done. If your gutters or windows are also nasty or you have birds nesting in your solar panels, they offer those services as well.
Give them a look and help support our local businesses! East Bay Solar Cleaning.

THE DIGEST
🏗️ Big Plans for Town & Country Drive
There’s a major shake-up in the works at the Village Shopping Center (107 Town & Country Drive). A developer has submitted a plan to build a 211,573 sq ft, four-story apartment complex on the 3.89-acre site - complete with a two-story, partially underground parking garage. That’s right, we’re talking layers... of 🅿️ parking.
To make room, the project would say goodbye to three two-story commercial buildings (totaling 38,300 sq ft), and also wave farewell to five Town-protected trees 🌳 (RIP, green friends).
The developer is also asking for a few "pretty please?" exceptions:
🪵 Floor Area Ratio: 120% allowed → 141% proposed
🆙 Number of stories: 3 allowed → 4 proposed
↕ Height: 35 ft allowed → 53 ft proposed
🅿️ Parking for remaining commercial space: 116 required → 95 proposed
If you're thinking “hmm, that’s a lot of asks”, you’re not alone. Town departments and outside agencies have been looped in to weigh potential issues before anything gets green-lit.

🎉 50 Years of Red, White & Woo-Hoo! 🇺🇸
Danville’s biggest block party turns 50 this July 4th — the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley is celebrating five decades of hosting our iconic Independence Day Parade in partnership with the Town. That’s half a century of floats, flags, and flaming 🔥 hot asphalt.
What started when Danville had 26,500 residents now draws 40,000+ spectators and 125+ entries each year, making it one of the Bay Area’s largest 4th of July parades. (Yes, we do it big.)
📍 The route? Same classic: from SRV High down Hartz Ave to Town & Country.
🕘 Time? 9 AM to noon.
🎺 Vibes? Immaculate.
This year’s Grand Marshal? The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano - because nothing says community like feeding those in need and tossing candy from a moving vehicle.
Expect everything from marching bands and muscle cars to scouts, cheer squads, local legends, and maybe even a horse or two. 🐴
And here’s the best part: it’s all for a cause. Parade proceeds fuel the Kiwanis SRV Grants Program, which has gifted $1M+ to local nonprofits over the years. So every sponsor, marcher, and flag-waver helps make a real difference.
So bring a chair, some sunscreen, and your loudest “Woooo!” It’s time to celebrate 50 years of community, country, and pure Danville joy.
🥾 New Trails, Big Win for Danville Hikers
Sycamore Valley Open Space just got a major glow-up. Over 3.5 miles of brand-new trails are now open, thanks to a team effort between the Town of Danville, Save Mount Diablo, and East Bay Regional Park District — all made possible by you, the voters, through 2020’s Measure Y.
That ballot measure preserved 381 acres of open space (at zero cost to taxpayers), with the Magee Preserve now officially linking up to the Sycamore Valley Open Space trail network. Translation: more room to roam, hike, and pretend you’re in a Patagonia ad.
🚵♀️ Even more good news:
A 1-mile bike & pedestrian trail is coming to Diablo Road (thanks, Danville).
Another 2 miles of trails are in the works from Save Mount Diablo.
A big community hike + celebration is planned for fall 2025.
A ribbon-cutting was held June 24, but the real party is on the trails. Go check out the fresh paths and panoramic ridge views — and thank a tree on your way.
🌿 Fun fact: Sycamore Valley Open Space Preserve now totals 695 acres, with roots going back to land acquisitions in 1989, 1998, and beyond. It’s kind of the OG open space in Danville.
Happy hiking!
